R.J. Gibbs, MS, is graduate research assistant currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Kinesiology. RJ earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2010. He is also currently a Health Educator and Program Coordinator for a school-based health promotion program called FITKids at Sparrow Hospital and has 10 years of experience as a health and fitness professional.
RJ’s primary focus is on promoting youth athlete development through nutrition, physical activity, and life skill enhancement. He believes that sports are a vehicle for life and can be used to teach young athletes how to be healthy both physically and mentally. RJ is a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter, an avid golfer, and a former varsity cheerleader for the University of Michigan.
